South Africa | February 2018
Dear Real Pay User
The first quarter of 2018 is already well underway. The payments industry is evolving at an ever-increasing pace, creating new opportunities and benefits for industry participants as well as system Users. Real Pay is optimistic that the role and importance of non-bank financial institutions participating in the payments industry will become more evident in the year ahead.
True to our mission and vision, Real Pay offers the most advanced collections and disbursement solution – by applying unique, innovative and competitive technologies and providing exceptional service – to be Africa’s preferred and leading payments stream service provider; distinguished by our people, approach and client partnerships.
The AC/DebiCheck initiative is gaining significant momentum with the industry’s focus on production stabilisation during January 2018. Real Pay is actively participating in the testing phase with both its Sponsor Banks. Code deployment is aligned to commence with the revised industry test plans running up to 31 July 2018.
The AC/DebiCheck initiative is regarded as one of the most complex in the history of the South African payments industry. Therefore, the managed testing methodology continues with a limited number of testing participants.
We are working closely with our Sponsor Banks to ensure optimal testing results, enabling our readiness throughout all stages of the project. We will keep our valued Users updated on developments.
The Payment System Stakeholder Forum (PSSF) annual renewal is due. Please note that the membership fees are payable to the PSSF by end of February 2018 to avoid suspension. Use your User Number, e.g., B0001 as reference to assist the PSSF in allocating your funds correctly.
Contact the Real Pay Compliance Department at email@example.com or 012 347 0729 if you have not received an invoice from the PSSF yet.
Real Pay would like to thank our Users for their co-operation and support of a safe, efficient and compliant National Payment System. It is imperative that every transaction is matched to a correct, compliant and valid authority to debit (mandate) and company agreement or contract. Debit order abuse remains a key focus area in the payments industry. Following the set guidelines is non-negotiable. In this regard, we would like to remind our Users of the User Debit Order Abuse Rules (UDOA) that can be found on Real Pay Collect for your convenience. Kindly familiarise yourselves with the criteria and corresponding meanings as well as the UDOA processes.
